I'd like to sign up for two new challenges!
The first one lasts through September 2008 and is hosted by C. B. James at Ready When You Are, C.B. Its' called Short Story September Challenge. Read as many short stories as you can during September, post a review for each, and for each one receive a entry in a contest to win books! This sounds great. I have a couple books of short stories waiting for me to get to them, so I might as well start reading them.
Would you like to suggest a short story for me to read? Please do!

The second challenge is A Ghostly Challenge, hosted by Callista from SMS Book Reviews. It lasts during September and October 2008 and involves reading at least two "ghostly" books. Here's my list (more than 2, so I'll have room to choose from):

- A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb (already read, so I'm not sure it counts)
- Second Glance by Jodi Picoult
- The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
- Beloved by Toni Morrison
5 Comments:
I just read/reviewed the collection *Months and Seasons* by Christopher Meeks. I really liked "The Farms at 93rd and Broadway" and "The Old Topanga Incident". check them out!
I loved reading Chekhov, particularly "The Student" (it's very short). I also found Maupassant to be very readable. (My post will be up soon!) Next I'm reading Hemingway and Flannery O'Connor. I'll look forward to seeing what stories you read!
Thank you for your suggestions! I'll be looking for these stories soon.
Welcome to Short Story September! I've posted a link to your blog on mine.
I'd like to hear about a story from Down to a Sunless Sea. ;-)
Hi C.B. James! The reviews from Down to a Sunless Sea are coming.
